Tottenham have stolen a march on Liverpool in the chase for Swansea's Ben Davies. Liverpool had a £8 million bid rejected earlier in the day; Tottenham have taken notice and have bidded £10 million - a fee Swansea have deemed acceptable.
Ben Davies has since been pulled out of the friendly game between Chivas Guadalajara as both sides look to get the deal sewn up.
Swansea are particularly interested in re-signing Tottenham's Gylfi Sigurdsson and are keen to do a deal with the White Hart Lane club. Liverpool's interest in Davies however, has complicated things for Swansea. Swansea are afraid Tottenham may renege on a Sigurdsson move if Davies does not end up at White Hart Lane.
Therefore, other media outlets have reported Swansea want a higher bid from Liverpool in order to balance the deficit. As it stands, Liverpool are currently in the midsts of making a new bid.
