Rumours are flying abound that Luis Suarez is seriously flirting with the idea of joining Barcelona and Real Madrid. The two Spanish giants are reportedly deciding whether or not they should break a world fee for Suarez or aim to reduce the overall money spent by including a few players in a swap deal.
In the case the former happens, Liverpool appear to have lined-up Monaco hotshot Radamel Falcao as a possible replacement. Falcao moved to Monaco from Atletico Madrid for £50 million during the summer window of 2013 and was supposed to represent Monaco's ascent to the top of the football pyramid.
However, with rules regarding Monaco's lenient tax rules being upped to be more in sync with the rest of France, Falcao's future is suddenly in doubt as he will not be earning the same amount he signed up for. Meaning, Monaco would have to offer Falcao a new contract to get him up to his previous earnings, or risk a player upset he is earning less in a league beneath his talents.
Although not the complete player Suarez is, Falcao perhaps the world's greatest poacher. In his first four seasons in Europe, Falcao scored over 30 goals; twice for Porto and twice for Atletico Madrid. He also bagged 11 goals in 19 appearances for Monaco this season.
Nonetheless, it appears Liverpool will have to hope Real Madrid turn down Falcao as the Colombian striker (who missed out on the World Cup with a anterior cruciate ligament injury) is set on joining the Madrid based club. It is worth noting Falcao has the same agent as Cristiano Ronaldo (Jorge Mendes).
