Leicester City have confirmed their second signing for the new season as they look to consolidate their status as a Premier League club. The first was announced yesterday as Charlton goalkeeper Ben Hamer jumped ship on a bosman. Today, experienced center back Matthew Upson is the latest to join the Leicester City project on a bosman as he rejected the one deal put forth to him by Brighton Hove Albion.
At the age of 35 Upson is in great after appearing in 47 games for Brighton last season; he was also voted Brighton's Player of the Year as the club finished in 6th place and lost in the play-off semi-final's to Derby County.
Given that Leicester City conceded more goals than Upson's Brighton, it does appear that their is scope for Upson to improve the team beyond his experience.
