For a second time Kaka has decided to call it quits on his AC Milan career, and unlike the last time when he was whisked away during his peak, there is no chance of a comeback at the age of 32 for the popular player.
A club statement read: "AC Milan announce that they have today terminated the contract of Kaka by mutual agreement".
The decision to terminate the contract comes just under a year after Kaka re-signed for his beloved club after a disappointing spell at Real Madrid.
Upon his return Kaka has appointed team captain as the club looked to his guidance and expertise after losing several experienced players in the summer transfer window last season.
Kaka had a good season scoring 9 and assisting 8 goals but it was not good enough to help Milan as they fell to their lowest league position in over a decade and will go without Champions League football for the first time since the 2008-09 season.
Kaka is speculated to be joining boyhood club Sao Paulo on loan for six months before finally moving to the MLS to play for new club Orlando in January 2015.
