Today UKIP leader Nigel Farage was targeted by a protester as Farage was due to start campaigning in Nottingham. As the footage above shows, as Farage stepped out of his car a protester approached him and quickly slammed an egg onto the left side of his shoulder, forcing Farage back into the car and to relocate elsewhere.
The bearded protester (below holding the notepad) named himself as 'Fred from Nottingham'. When questioned why he egged Nigel Farage, he had this to say: "Egg-throwing is a well established form of political protest in this country. I saw the guys outside the town hall about 10 minutes ago. I went to Tesco, bought some eggs."
