Atletico Madrid defeated Real Madrid 2-0 during the 1st leg of this Copa Del Rey tie and will be confident in their ability to see themselves through to the next round. Atletico are unbeaten in the last four encounters against Real and have generally had the upper hand in their encounters dating back to the Copa Del Rey 2013 final. However, Real Madrid do welcome Cristiano Ronaldo back to the fold and he would like nothing better than to celebrate his Ballon d'Or win by overturning his side's deficit.

92nd min: With the game clearly over, Ronaldo thrashes the ball over the bar from a 25 yard free-kick, perhaps letting out his frustration into one last shot. Two minutes later the referee puts him and Real Madrid out of their miseries by blowing the final whistle. Atletico Madrid progress to the quarter finals to play Barcelona (should they as expected, beat Elche who are carrying a 5-0 deficit).
In the meantime, check out the goals from the match:
Fernando Torres makes it 1-0
Sergio Ramos makes it 1-1
Fernando Torres gets a brace 2-1
Cristiano Ronaldo equalises again for Real 2-2
80th min: Since Atletico Madrid bagged their second of the game the match quickly crescendoed, Cristiano Ronaldo's equaliser (in terms of the match not the tie) proving to be nothing more than last gasp. Of course there is still time, but it is running out quickly.
53rd min: GOAL! A quick reply for Real Madrid to make it 2-2. Marcelo nudges the ball down the line for Bale who manages to put a cross in before the ball trickles over the ball. It is a foot race between Godin and Ronaldo to see who gets the ball first with a header...I will say no more.
51st min: Atletico Madrid want to bury Real right now. Torres breaks forward and tries to take on two defenders. He is dispossessed but Griezmann is on hand and narrowly shoots wide.
45th min: GOAL! And you will not believe it, Fernando Torres scores an early goal again! Ramos gave the ball away in a dangerous position and Griezmann again supplied Torres with the chance with which he duly obliged.
45th min: Stay with us as the second half begins.

43rd min: A series of sideways passes that fails to shift the Atletico backline, Marcelo cuts in from the left and has a speculative shot Oblak saves. Frustrating is an overstatement.
38th min: It is like ping-pong in the Atletico box as the defending team kick out anything Real throw at them. Best attack during this exchange saw Rodriguez cross for Bale, whose header finds Benzema. The striker shoots but his shot is blocked.
30th min: Ronaldo must be getting very frustrated right now. Kroos puts the ball into him but his header is blocked by Juanfran. You just have to sit back and admire Atletico Madrid's defending sometimes, well if you are a neutral that is.
26th min: Raul Garcia slides into James Rodriguez and is yellow carded as a result. That is the first yellow card of the game.
22nd min: Cristiano Ronaldo is winding up for a smash but Diego Godin dives in the way to block his shot. You wonder how he never made the 2014 World XI during the Ballon d'Or ceremonies?
20th min: GOAL! A lifeline for Real perhaps? A brilliant corner for Kroos puts Oblak in no man's land and Sergio Ramos capitalises with a powerful header.
17th min: Toni Kroos' corner is knocked down to Ronaldo's feet, although he cannot react quickly enough before Oblak smothers the ball.
Watch the Fernando Torres goal
5th min: Madrid's first effort on goal is rather tame as Bale's header is plucked from the air by Oblak.
The score is 1-0 on the night but Atletico have an aggregate lead of 3-0, meaning Madrid need four goals to get through. Does anyone still think they can win?
1st min: GOAL! Fernando Torres has scored against Real Madrid! I repeat: Fernando Torres has scored against Real Madrid! Brilliant one touch play by Atletico was abruptly ended by Griezmann who skipped past Pepe from the centre circle and ran all the way into the box where his low cross was put in by Fernando Torres.
