If the past five Premier League encounters between these two teams have taught us anything, it is that we can expect the two teams to serve up a one sided seven goal demolition. At least on three occasions the two sides have played out such a match: 1-6, 3-4 and most recently 7-0 in Manchester City's favour. The other two times were a 5-1 victory in favour of Manchester City and a 2-3 victory in favour of Norwich.
However, with Norwich only conceding 11 goals at home all season and Manchester City missing key players in attack, it is highly unlikely we will see the mandatory seven tomorrow.
What we will almost certainly see is a depleted Man City attack try to force their way through a Norwich side that will almost definitely have the barricades up. Such tactics might have Jose Mourinho foaming at mouth, but Norwich have nothing to lose by setting up in such a defensive manner, their 19 goals this season means they have the joint second worst attack in league.
If Norwich are to get anything out of the match, they need Man City's scoreline to be as close to nil as possible. That might be a tough task considering Norwich's defenders are poor at making tackles and interceptions.
This season Norwich have had nightmares against Arsenal (4-1), Liverpool (5-1) and of course they lost 7-0 to Man City earlier in the year. This shows that they are extremely vulnerable against skillful players.
In David Silva, Jesus Navas and Yaya Toure City certainly have plenty of skill available, the only problem is aside from Toure, none of them are regular scorers.
With Aguero and Negredo out, Dzeko and Jovetic will assume the striker positions. Dzeko tends to struggle in matches where he is starved for space; as for Jovetic, in Italy he showed on numerous occasions how skilled he was, however, he was never prolific and is unproven in the Premier League for now.
Man City will probably be frustrated in their attempts to put the game beyond doubt, though they should have enough in the tank.
