Man City will look to keep up their incredible home form against Swansea tomorrow. In many ways this match could resemble the City's massacre of Tottenham a week ago.
Like Tottenham, Swansea are superb at keeping possession. In fact they are better than Spurs and City and are indeed the best in the league when it comes to keeping the ball.
A huge reason why Swansea are able to do is down to striking duo Bony and Michu. They are both rarely dispossessed due to their great upper body strength; Bony only 10 times in 11 matches (screenshot two), Michu an astounding 3 times in 10 matches (screenshot three). Michu in particular has a brilliant first touch, consequentially only suffers 1 turnover per game (loss of ball due to poor control).
Unfortunately for the Swans the enigmatic duo are out and with that their game plan falls apart. Their likely replacements are Alvaro and Jonjo Shelvey. In the case of Alvaro, he is very much an unknown quantity but in the few games he has played, he has failed to make a lasting impression. As for Shelvey he is very much Jekyll and Hyde. City will look to take advantage of any confusion in the Swansea ranks.
Against Tottenham, Fernandinho snapped at heels of any player who was slack in possession and he can be expected to do the same against Swansea.
With the form Aguero and Negredo are in, absolutely no mistakes can be made and unfortunately for Swansea, it seems every possible permutation is against them.
