Liverpool will be desperate for a win today as they look to consign Wednesday's thrashing by Real Madrid to history. Deping on this weekend's results, a win could take Liverpool into 4th position and equal with Southampton (albeit goal difference separating the two).
On the flipside, a Hull victory would see them leapfrog Liverpool and put a further dent in their aspirations to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Based on previous encounters Liverpool have the edge over Hull. In the last five competitive matches between the two sides, Liverpool have won three times, drawing once and losing once. Liverpool have also never lost in the Premier League to Hull at Anfield.
However, Hull are much improved and Liverpool are going through a difficult patch, making today's game hard to predict. Injuries to key players might sway things in Liverpool favour, however.
Liverpool: Jon Flanagan, Mamadou Sakho and Daniel Sturridge - Out
Hull City: Michael Dawson, Steve Harper, Nikica Jelavic, Allan McGregor and Robert Snodgrass - Out; Tom Huddlestone and Andrew Robertson - Doubtful
