In what has to be one of the most ironic twists in football right now, Kim Kallstrom who was brought from Spartak Moscow on loan to cover Arsenal's injury crisis in midfield, is now himself injured and is set for a spell on the sidelines for 2-3 months!
The injury occurred on the training pitch where Kallstrom was undergoing his first training session with his new team mates after clinching the surprise transfer to Arsenal yesterday.
The injury is said to be a back strain and will reportedly keep him out for 2-3 months.
Quite what will happen to Kim Kallstrom is as of yet unknown. He was only brought as cover for the injury crisis and it is understood Wenger never had any plans to sign him on a full deal after the loan elapsed.
Given that Arsenal's injured players will be back before Kallstrom has recovered, Wenger might feel compelled to terminate the loan contract to save on wages.
